The Sanitation Department of the Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation is committed to maintaining and improving the cleanliness, hygiene and environmental health of the city of Dibrugarh. We aim to ensure that our streets, drains, public spaces and residential areas are kept clean, safe and disease-free, thereby enhancing the quality of life for all citizens.

Our Key Functions

• Regular collection, transportation and scientific disposal of municipal solid waste generated from households, markets, institutions and commercial establishments.

• Door-to-door waste collection, segregation of wet and dry waste, and implementation of systematic waste-management infrastructure for current and future needs.

• Maintenance and cleaning of storm-water drains and sewerage channels to prevent water-logging and flooding, particularly during the monsoon.

• Enforcement of cleanliness norms, preventing dumping of waste in drains, waterways and public spaces, and removal of encroachments that hamper drainage or sanitation operations.

• Public awareness and community engagement campaigns to promote civic responsibility, cleanliness, and behavioural change among residents, shopkeepers and institutions.

• Deploy modern equipment and methods—such as super-suckers, mechanised desilting equipment—to enhance efficiency and reach.

• Collaborate with partner agencies, neighbourhood groups and infrastructure programmes to build long-term sustainable sanitation systems.

• Continuously monitor and respond to citizen grievances, so together we can achieve a cleaner city.
