The Taxation Department of Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation is dedicated to ensuring fair, efficient and transparent collection of municipal taxes and levies from all residential, commercial, institutional and industrial properties within the city. Our goal is to enable sustainable service delivery, enhance infrastructure and maintain civic amenities through timely and accountable tax administration.

Our Key Functions

• Assessment, billing and collection of property tax, trade licence fees, municipal rent, water/sewerage charges and other local levies.

• Implementation of online payment systems and digital infrastructure for tax services: property-owners can view demand notices and make payments through the corporation’s web portal.

• Introduction of unique identification and tracking mechanisms for properties: the DMC has begun rolling out a Permanent Property Unique Identification Number (UIN) system with QR-coded plates to streamline tax assessment and payment verification.

• Monitoring of outstanding tax arrears, conducting inspections and taking necessary legal or administrative measures for enforcement of tax compliance.

• Providing support, guidance and grievance redressal for taxpayers: helping citizens understand their tax obligations, payment options and rights.
